The Interview Process

Step 1

Application Review

Our team will review your CV and cover letter. Successful candidates will be invited to a virtual interview.

Step 2

First Round Interview

A 20-30 minute virtual interview with one Elanco employee, covering general interview questions about your experience, motivation, and suitability. If successful, you'll be moved to the final stage.

Step 3

Final Interview & Technical Task

You'll complete a technical task beforehand and then attend a final interview with two Elanco employees. The interview is split into two halves: a technical discussion, where you'll walk through your completed task, and a competency-based section with situational questions.

Preparation Checklist

  • ▸Research Elanco — ourself with our mission of "Making Life Better for Animals," our 4 Core Pillars, and our Elanco 2030 strategic goals .
  • ▸Know your CV — Be ready to talk through your experience, projects, and skills with specific examples
  • ▸Listen and Clarify — Don’t jump into an answer before you fully understand the question. If you’re unsure, it’s perfectly okay to ask the interviewer to rephrase it. If you’re feeling nervous and get stuck, you can even ask to come back to that specific question at the end.

On the Day

  • ▸Dress for the Role — You don't necessarily need a full suit, but aim for "Smart Professional." Think of it as your "first day on the job" outfit. clean, neat, and confident. Remember, your first impression is often the last impression, so look the part!
  • ▸Use the STAR Method — When asked "Tell me about a time when...", structure your answer by describing the Situation, Task, Action, and Result. This keeps your answers sharp and professional.
  • ▸Arrive on Time — Aim to be ready 10–15 minutes early, whether checking in at reception or testing your tech for a virtual meeting. Punctuality is vital because the first impression is the last impression.
